Dr Paramesh Gopi, President and CEO of AMCC

Applied Micro Circuits Corporation announced that Kambiz Hooshmand, President and Chief Executive Officer, will step down on June 1st 2009. Dr Paramesh Gopi, currently the Chief Operating Officer, will take over the role of President and CEO at that time.

This transition period will allow us to smoothly hand over responsibilities and communicate to our customers, investors, and partners. Gopi
joined AMCC in July 2008. Most recently, he served as vice-president
and general manager for Marvell’s Embedded and Emerging Business Unit.
Prior to this, he served as chief technology strategist and held
several management positions during his six year tenure at Marvell.
Before joining Marvell he was executive director, Strategic Marketing
and Applications at Mindspeed Technologies/Conexant Systems. Dr. Gopi
holds a doctorate in Electrical and Computing Engineering from the
University of California, Irvine.
