With direct sales
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on January 29, 2009 at 3:38 pmDivision of BBS Technologies, Inc., R1Soft, a developer of Continuous Data Protection (CDP) Software providing high performance backup and recovery for Windows and Linux Servers, is expanding its business to sell directly to the enterprise. After conquering the hosting market with more than 100,000 servers protected in some of the world’s largest data centers, R1Soft’s CDP solution will now be available directly to enterprises looking to efficiently backup critical data on Windows, Linux and MySQL servers.
"R1Soft’s Continuous Data Protection is unbelievably fast and easy-to-setup backup software," said Bill Yu, system engineer at Cisco Systems. "It’s already paid for itself after the first system restore."
R1Soft’s expansion to the enterprise is driven primarily by customer demand.
"Enterprise customers have been learning that their hosting providers are using R1Soft CDP on their hosted servers, and we have been overwhelmed with customers asking to install CDP in-house," said David Wartell, founder of R1Soft. "Enterprise customers are now finding out about their hosting providers’ best kept secret, affordable, easy-to-use, carrier grade data protection that is used on over 100,000 mission critical Windows and Linux servers around the world."
Hosting partner Server Intellect uses R1Soft CDP to protect more than 1,000 mission critical Windows servers.
"Data protection has always been one of our top priorities and by partnering with R1Soft we can offer high-performance backups. CDP was implemented to provide our clients’ servers the best and least CPU intensive backup solution possible," explained Server Intellect’s CEO, Eric Pratt. "With a true block-level backup and data integrity verification we can offer our clients a solution that gives them the security of knowing their data is completely protected."

R1Soft Continuous Data Protection for the enterprise is available now for $180 per server.
