Corsair Memory Enters SSDs
With Samsung's chip and controller
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on January 26, 2009 at 3:37 pmCorsair Memory enters the market of solid-stated drives but not with an official launch.
The CMFSSD-128GBG1D is a 2.5” SATA-II MLC SSD with maximum 90MB/s read and 70MB/s write.
It uses specially Samsung NAND flash memory and a Samsung controller, which is similar to the technology used by major OEMs such as Dell and Apple. The company said that this provides an advantage over the non-Intel MLC SSDs on the market, which use controller technology that can cause stuttering and long pauses in Windows, affecting the usability of the operating system.
