Xpoint Suing Several Companies for Data Processing Recovery System

They are Intel, Farstone, Acronis, HP, Dell, Microsoft, Acer, Gateway and Toshiba.

A case started in a Delaware District Court on January 12 naming several companies and involving alleged infringement of a recovery
system for operating systems from
Xpoint Technologies Inc.

These firms are:

  • Intel Corporaton,
  • Farstone Technology Inc.,
  • Acronis Inc.,
  • Hewlett-Packard Company,
  • Dell Inc.,
  • Microsoft Corporation,
  • Acer Inc.,
  • Acer America Corporation,
  • Gateway Inc.,
  • Toshiba Corporation and
  • Toshiba
    America Inc.

Xpoint Technologies alleges they have breached patent numbers 
7,024,581 and 7,430,686 – both called Data Processing Recovery System
and Method Spanning Multiple Operating System.

Privately held Xpoint Technologies develops One Button Restore solutions that are suited for large enterprises utilizing branch office environments and SMEs.

Curiously, the company has strategic development relationship with … Intel and Microsoft (and also IBM).
