From Escon, 24TB FC to SATA-ll RAID System

EScon Ltd., the North Yorkshire-based provider of storage solutions, has engineered another first with its DiscPac 7000 Series. Their 24 TB SATA-ll redundant RAID System is the first of its kind in a 24 bay SAS/SATA hard disk configuration. It provides the highest theoretical packing density and consequently the lowest cost per ‘U’ (useable upright).

Bridged with one dedicated x4 SAS channel between 2 RAID controllers, the RAID supports Dual Active-Active Redundancy or single architecture to ensure nonstop and flawless operation. All this in a 4U 19” rack mount which, starting from £4,500, makes it almost half the price of a comparable 2 x 2U.
