UK Addison Lee Hails Opts for Mimosa Nearpoint for Microsoft Exchange

Mimosa Systems announced that Addison Lee, a London’s minicab and courier companies has slashed email backup windows from 12 hours to one, reduced the amount of storage needed for its Microsoft Exchange mailboxes from 75 GB to 5 GB and avoided spending around £50,000 on new IT hardware and software by installing Mimosa NearPoint.

 
Mimosa NearPoint has given Addison Lee a comprehensive email archiving solution that maintains a complete up-to-date copy of all Exchange data, while preserving the rich context of all users’ mailboxes and public folders. In addition, because Mimosa integrates seamlessly with Exchange there was no need for Addison Lee to retrain its users – archived items simply appear as another folder in the same familiar Outlook format.
 
Addison Lee selected NearPoint ahead of rival email archiving solutions including Symantec’s Enterprise Vault and CA’s Message Manager based on affordability, fast search capabilities, reliable recovery function and continuous data protection features. Another deciding factor was that NearPoint did not require software agents to be deployed on either the Exchange servers or the desktops, making deployment and maintenance a much simpler and quicker proposition.
 
“NearPoint is unique in that is works using transaction log-shipping which maintains a complete and up-to-date copy of all Addison Lee’s data — messages, calendar items, tasks, and contacts — without impacting on the performance of the Exchange Server.
