The Planet Lowered List Price of DAS
By $150
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on January 2, 2009 at 2:51 pmThe Planet announced the final three days of promotional pricing on Direct Attached Storage (DAS). For customers who require enhanced database performance and increased file storage capacity, DAS offers an ideal solution.
Through Dec. 31, The Planet has lowered the list price of its DAS products by $150. Regularly priced from $450 to $800, DAS is now available for as little as $300 per month. DAS is available in three configurations, each based on Dell’s MD series, which can be used as primary storage or for backup and archiving.
“As businesses ramp up for the New Year, it’s critical they have adequate storage in place to keep their Web sites running at peak performance,” said Rob Walters, The Planet’s general manager for storage and data protection. “With clustering and failover capabilities, DAS provides customers with enhanced redundancy for their online operations. Our new promotional pricing provides businesses with an even more cost-effective method for protecting critical data.”
DAS provides customers with improved performance and increased security for their servers by virtue of its high availability, serial-attached SCSI (SAS) architecture:
- The MD 1000 is now priced at $300 per month, down from $450.
- The MD 3000 Single Port is priced today at $500, down from $650 per month.
- The MD 3000 Dual Port, formerly $800 per month, is now $650.
