Hsu is a well-known and gifted songwriter/singer who swept judges and viewers off their feet with her talents in the popular reality-TV talent competition in Taiwan, ‘Superstar’. Hsu has composed many songs over the years, all of which are invaluable to her. In an unfortunate incident, she lost her entire collection of compositions due to a computer failure. Hsu was devastated by her loss.
To help prevent such unfortunate incidents happening to other computer users, Seagate launched new cutting-edge storage solutions, FreeAgent Go and FreeAgent XTreme, to provide secure digital data storage, exceptional performance and user-friendly software functionality for young music talents like Hsu and others consumers. Through Hsu’s testimonial, Seagate hopes to communicate the importance of proper data storage and backup to consumers so they will not lose their precious digital libraries of photos, videos and music.
Now Hsu uses FreeAgent Go solutions, the world’s thinnest portable hard drive, to capture her inspirations while relying on the large capacity and rapid data transfer speed of the FreeAgent XTreme solution to archive digital videos of her performances. Seagate’s most recent innovations in the FreeAgent line of storage solutions enable Hsu to record and archive her music and videos with ease and peace of mind.
“Some months ago, my laptop broke down and every piece of music I’ve composed over the years was on the hard drive but I could not access nor retrieve it,” the Superstar winner recalled. “I want to give special thanks to Seagate, for helping me recover the lost data, and for providing me with brand new, stylish FreeAgent hard drives. Now I can concentrate on creating music and writing songs without worrying about losing my creations.”
Hsu’s inspirations can strike her anytime, anywhere. Hence her storage solution must be lightweight and compact so she can take it with her everywhere when she records music on the go. At the same time, the device must be aesthetically pleasing and stylish, as it reflects Hsu’s personality and image as a musician. At an astonishing 12.5 mm thickness, Seagate’s latest generation of FreeAgent Go drive is the world’s thinnest and it boasts a sophisticated design and comes in four striking colors.
As Hsu gains popularity, she is also giving more public performances. Hsu likes to film each of her performances, not only to hone her skills as a performer, but also to capture her precious moments on stage. For such large data storage needs, Hsu depends on the Seagate FreeAgent Xtreme hard drive, with its 1.5TB storage capacity and fast data transfer speed of 3Gb/s through an eSATA interface, to archive videos of her performances.
“I take my FreeAgent Go drive wherever I go so I can record my compositions anytime, anywhere,” Hsu said. “What really impresses me – is the docking station for the FreeAgent Go drive. When I come home, I just connect it to the docking station and it automatically synchronizes data with my personal computer,” Hsu added. “And I store videos on the FreeAgent XTreme drive. Its enormous storage capacity allows me to archive all my performances digitally. Seagate’s innovative digital storage solutions give me the freedom I need to create and store my music.”
“As the worldwide leading storage solutions provider, Seagate believes in providing easy-to-use products that help artists like Ms Hsu preserve their creations and assist consumers in keeping their precious memories alive,” said Ban Seng Teh, vice president and managing director, Asia Pacific Sales & Marketing, Seagate Technology. “We are pleased that Seagate’s new generation of FreeAgent portable hard drives is delighting consumers as well as becoming an integral part of the creative process for music talents like Hsu.”
