Spansion Statement on ITC Institutes Investigation
Concerning the complaint vs. Samsung on Flash
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on December 19, 2008 at 3:24 pmThe International Trade Commission (ITC) issued its decision to institute an investigation on certain Flash memory chips and products based on a complaint filed by Spansion, Inc. on November 17, 2008.
This decree is commensurate with the outcome Spansion expected in this case. Spansion is committed to complying fully with the ITC and hopes to resolve any outstanding issues as quickly as possible in the interest of consumers and the industry.
By instituting this investigation, the ITC has not yet made any decision on the merits of the case. The ITC’s Chief Administrative Law Judge will assign the case to one of the ITC’s six Administrative Law Judges (ALJ), who will schedule and hold an evidentiary hearing. The ALJ will make an initial determination as to whether there is a violation and that initial determination is subject to review by the Commission.
