Zenith Infotech With StorageCraft
To incorporate ShadowProtect D2D backup and DR
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on December 16, 2008 at 3:37 pmStorageCraft Technology Corporation announced a long-term strategic partnership with Zenith Infotech, the global leader in managed services infrastructure.
Through this partnership, StorageCraft will provide ShadowProtect, the disk-based backup and disaster recovery technology to thousands of Zenith Infotech customers as part of its Backup & Disaster Recovery Solution (BDR).
Zenith Infotech’s innovative business model eliminates barriers for customers to adopt the managed services model by reducing costs and risks. Its customers consist of many Fortune 500 companies, including Sony, Pentel and Phillips.
Backup and Disaster Recovery Simplified
ShadowProtect Server Edition will back up Zenith Infotech’s managed servers, storing the backup images both locally and remotely, providing multiple access points, in the event of a catastrophic failure. The unique ShadowProtect technology manages system backup sets across multiple locations while simultaneously minimizing the impact on valuable system and network resources.
“Zenith Infotech chose StorageCraft ShadowProtect because it was the only solution able to meet our exacting backup and disaster recovery requirements,” said Akash Saraf, CEO of Zenith Infotech. “We required technology that allowed fail-over to virtual machines and rapid recovery to the physical environment while using minimal resources.”
The Hardware Independent Restore (HIR) functionality in ShadowProtect will enable Zenith Infotech to perform a bare metal recovery of a server to a virtual server, when disaster strikes. ShadowProtect will then continue tracking incremental changes on the virtual server, so that when the physical server is back up and running, it can be restored with all of the changed data.
“Incorporating StorageCraft ShadowProtect with Zenith Infotech technology allows clients to know their data is completely protected, locally and remotely,” said Scott Barnes, CTO of StorageCraft Technology Corporation. “Together with Zenith Infotech, we want to improve and simplify the delivery and management of backup and disaster recovery in the managed services industry.”
In addition to disaster recovery and data protection, Zenith Infotech BDR & Managed Services Bundle provides clients with a remote management platform built to suit customer needs. It combines a comprehensive IT management platform with secure remote access technology to safely manage clients’ IT infrastructure without the need to set up a VPN between customer and client.
