Laura Yecies CEO of Sharpcast
Maker of the SugarSync online data back-up and storage, syncing and file sharing service

I’m excited to lead this next phase of business and product growth and bring the benefits of SugarSync to consumers worldwide.”
Yecies joins Sharpcast from Check Point Software Technologies, where she served as general manager of the consumer and small business division leading all business, sales, product and marketing efforts for the complete line of award-winning ZoneAlarm Internet security software and hardware solutions.
Prior to Check Point, Yecies was general manager of the Mail division at Yahoo, and vice president of the Netscape client product division at AOL.
“Laura intuitively understands the path to secure Sharpcast’s position as a market leader. That understanding, combined with her leadership experience at stalwart Internet brands such as ZoneAlarm, Netscape and Yahoo, will be invaluable,” said Greg Gretsch, managing director, Sigma and member of the Sharpcast board of directors.
Andreas Stavropoulos, Managing Director at Draper Fisher Jurvetson and Sharpcast board member added: “The board is confident in her ability to grow the SugarSync product, distribution, sales and marketing platforms, and transform Sharpcast from a start-up into a successful and mature company.”
Yecies received an M.B.A. from Harvard and an M.S.F.S. from Georgetown School of Foreign Service. She received her A.B. Magna Cum Laude in Government from Dartmouth.
