With the introduction of ‘Dynamic LD Assignment’, Infortrend has proved its commitment to continually advance the limit of best-in-class performance, whilst at the same time providing high availability of systems.
A failed data link can often result in the breakdown or degradation of system performance. In a business-critical deployment where a system is expected to run 24/7 and at optimal performance, even one second of performance degradation is intolerable since it may lead to major business losses. To alleviate this problem, Infortrend has developed ‘Dynamic LD Assignment’; technology that provides high availability on EonStor subsystems. This new technology minimizes the potential impact the failure of the data path could have on overall performance levels. When a data path is broken, clients who adopt dual-controller EonStor arrays can rest assured of not only the highest availability but the best possible performance.
Typically, failed data links lead to performance degradation because the storage controller has to re-direct the I/Os targeting the logical drive whose primary data path is broken. Infortrend now supplies all its EonStor dual-controller arrays with the ‘Dynamic LD Assignment’ technology to improve performance by eliminating the re-rerouting overhead. Once the failure is identified and corrected, optimal system performance can be immediately restored.

The ‘Dynamic LD Assignment’ now comes with all EonStor Fibre-, SAS-, and iSCSI-host redundant-controller models using Firmware ver. 3.64J or later.
