Online Backup Provider MyOtherDrive Offers Photo Sharing

Users can forward a photo's URL, but only specified contacts that log in with their password can access it.

Free online file sharing company, MyOtherDrive, offers subscribers the ability to share online photos with friends and family – all while maintaining the strict privacy standards users demand in today’s online world.

MyOtherDrive allows clients to engage in truly private photo sharing, unlike other private online communities such as Facebook. On many photo-sharing communities, it’s possible to forward a URL to anyone, meaning the photos easily become public. With MyOtherDrive, users can forward a photo’s URL, but only specified contacts that log in with their password protected information can access it.

"It’s not uncommon today for employers to Google potential employees before an interview or job offer. Most college students don’t think about that when they’re posting drunken pictures of last night’s party, but that’s not the impression potential employers want to see. This is just one of the many reasons that private photo sharing is a big concern today,” said John DeRegnaucourt, president of MyOtherDrive.com.

For users that wish to share pictures publicly such as on their blogs, websites, MySpace, Facebook, or social networking profiles, MyOtherDrive offers users the option of public photo sharing. “With MyOtherDrive, our subscribers can specify which photos should be public and which photos should remain private, ensuring that only people on their pre-approved list will be able to access the photos," said DeRegnaucourt.

As an added security and convenience measure, MyOtherDrive also offers a secure link, or private linking feature that allows users the option to send a single, password protected file to a contact. The private linking feature is ideal for those who wish to send a large downloadable file such as an image, movie, or manuscript that is too large for email. When the recipient receives the link, they must first log in with to their MyOtherDrive account before gaining access to the private file.

In addition to public and private sharing, MyOtherDrive also offers free online backup and file sharing services. With online storage, computer users never need to worry about losing their data in a computer crash or accessing files while away from their computer. MyOtherDrive’s online file sharing accounts allows users to immediately access their files from any computer with an internet connection.

From now until December 31, the company is giving away a Nintendo Wii and Wii Fit package to one lucky subscriber. No purchase is necessary to enter the contest. Additional details about the Wii giveaway can be found on their website.

All subscribers have to do to enter is to log into their MyOtherDrive account and invite their friends to sign up for their own free or paid accounts. Subscribers with any of the three paid accounts will receive five entries for each friend that signs up and subscribers with a free account will receive one entry per friend. The Wii prize package comes complete with two controllers and the Wii fitness package so the lucky winner will be all set to play," said DeRegnaucourt.
