Investors Real Estate Trust Selects Robobak Data Protection Software

To protect corporate critical data

Investors Real Estate Trust, a self-advised equity real estate investment trust, has chosen ROBOBAK’s Version 8 Data Protection Suite software to protect corporate-critical data from its offices throughout the north-central United States.

With offices in Minot, Omaha and Minneapolis, and assets of more than $1.6 billion, IRET owns a diversified portfolio of income-producing properties. IRET’s multi-family residential, office, medical, industrial and retail properties are located in 13 states, primarily in the Upper Midwest. The need to protect hundreds of gigabytes of information grows by the day, as a way of helping IRET deliver ongoing value to its shareholders.

We have been using tape as our primary backup medium, but realized the value of automating the data protection process,” said Josh Johnson, IRET’s network administrator. “ROBOBAK installs simply, and allows us to shorten data backups by automatically transmitting only data that has been added or changed since the previous backup. This will help us centralize our data protection efforts, and allow us to move information offsite for an additional level of protection, something that was far more difficult before ROBOBAK.”

Introduced earlier this year, ROBOBAK’s Version 8 Data Protection Suite software offers a full range of advanced features, enabling companies to adopt a unified approach in protecting data from remote and branch locations. With advantages such as agentless installation, ‘real-world’ continuous data protection (CDP), auto-discovery, source-based file de-duplication, and support for Microsoft Exchange 2007, SQL Server and more, ROBOBAK has rapidly become the leader in agentless remote data protection software.

Companies like IRET, with multiple remote offices and a need to centrally protect their information, benefit from ROBOBAK’s ease of installation and operation,” said Ron Roberts, ROBOBAK’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “They also benefit from our focus on helping protect personally identifiable information (PII) from unauthorized access.” A recent white paper from the Taneja Group called on companies to adopt a stringent set of best practices to safeguard data against unauthorized access or loss. The report noted that ROBOBAK can be used as a foundation to help companies protect PII, spanning issues such as data integrity, data security, data protection, authentication, auditing, and data disposition.
