Revinetix “Perpetual Backup for SMBs
Based on a patent pending software
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on November 21, 2008 at 3:09 pmRelying on innovation and revolutionary design, Revinetix, Inc. is making ‘perpetual backup’ a reality for thousands of small to medium sized businesses. Traditionally, such a secure and easy to use system would have been outside of the budgets for most smaller scale businesses, but the backup solutions provided by the company are “affordable, scalable and easy-to-use for every SMB/SME business”.
What makes the company’s backup solutions truly unique is the advanced software program, RevOS, that allows a user to manage data effectively and efficiently. The hardware systems are configured along a unique D2D2D design – meaning a Disk2Disk2Disk method of saving and capturing network data and information. Some systems require a disk to disk and tape backup. This is not a secure or speedy process, and Revinetix has eliminated the need for a tape, and integrated a user friendly software interface into their backup solutions.
Revinetix is adding new technologies to their existing line of backup solutions and working to provide SMB/SME businesses with guaranteed and continuous protection of their data, improved network efficiency, complete recovery capability, and the ability to save critical server and system storage space.
Because of tape’s limitations, people generally perceive data backup as a snapshot in time. Revinetix, however, is pioneering continuous snapshots to secure clients’ data – a concept referred to by the company as ‘perpetual backup’. This concept represents a dramatic shift in how people fundamentally view backing up data, and a huge advantage in ensuring compliance with HIPAA, and other regulations. Among the key benefits and differentiators of Revinetix’ IP are:
- Assurance of the continuous (perpetual) protection of data
- Provision of an audit trail, creating a quantum leap in regulation compliance
- Saved storage space by intelligently eliminating redundant copies of files
- Radical reduction in traffic and improved network efficiency
- Elimination of the need for backup windows (period of time when servers need to be down to allow backup)
- Recovery of a system or file at any point in time
- Data encryption and the ability to verify data on a Revinetix box or data going off-site
Additional technologies currently planned or in development will offer even more efficiency in D2D2D backup and archiving, enable strong encryption capabilities, and generally ensure greater data security and redundancy.
