At DV Expo
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on November 19, 2008 at 3:41 pmThis week at DV Expo, exhibitor and sponsor Digi-Data Corporation demonstrates the Continuum G Series T-4000. Combining energy management, automated data movement and streamlined expandability, Digi-Data’s G Series T-4000 can supply the raw performance, capacity, and connectivity required to produce, distribute, broadcast and warehouse digital media content. Packaged with other solutions, the T-4000 delivers content with the greatest degree of adaptability and investment protection in the market.
A small, affordable SAN, the G Series T-4000 supports as many as four-concurrent HD streams uncompressed (158MB/s x 4 = 632 MB/s) with zero dropped frames. The solution provides as many as four Mac Final Cut Pro users to share files without a switch using TigerTechnology’s metaSAN to ensure cross-platform workgroup collaboration.
"Offering 16, 4Gb fibre channel ports per controller chassis, dual high-speed busses, full volume copy technology and nearly a PB of storage addressability, the Continuum G Series T-4000 is made for high-capacity storage applications," states Ken Willis, Vice President and General Manger of Digi-Data’s Continuum Storage Division.
Digi-Green: Energy Efficiency
The T-4000’s power management system can range from ‘all on’ to nearly ‘all off,’ making it the only clustered RAID system on the market that can minimize energy consumption, yet deliver full performance on demand.
