Clearpace and 2e2 Partnering to Reduce Cost of Retaining Oracle Data
With the use of HP products
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on November 19, 2008 at 3:43 pmArchive store specialists Clearpace Software Ltd. and leading HP reseller and services partner 2e2 have agreed to partner to deliver application archiving solutions in the UK. The partnership will enable 2e2 to more effectively address the application performance and storage issues of large databases for their customers.
NP Archive
2e2 will initially focus on helping customers develop database archiving strategies that will ease the cost and complexity of retaining historical data in Oracle applications. Using an integrated Clearpace NParchive and HP Database Archiving solution, 2e2 will be able to relocate inactive Oracle data to highly compressed but accessible archive stores. The archive stores generated by NParchive can hold in excess of 40x more Oracle data on existing infrastructure.
In addition, 2e2 will also leverage the integrated product suites to deliver application sunsetting solutions that cost-effectively store and manage data from decommissioned legacy systems; a common scenario when customers migrate or upgrade to new Oracle applications. The application sunsetting offering will enable 2e2 customers to eliminate application maintenance fees, reduce storage costs and negate the need to maintain infrastructure museums for legacy systems.
“We’ve seen a sharp increase in application database growth among our customers over the past few years, coupled with an awareness that all data, including database data, must be retained for longer periods for legal, regulatory and internal audit reasons,” said David Kirby, Managing Director for 2e2 Business Applications. “As a result, we proactively encourage our customers to review their current data retention and archiving procedures so they are compliant, while also driving storage and operational cost reductions in the process. We have become very familiar with the HP Database Archiving product, and the complimentary data compression, time-proofing and immutability capabilities that Clearpace NParchive provides, allow us to achieve all these objectives for the customer.”
Under the partnership agreement 2e2 will resell Clearpace NParchive and provide related services. “It was important for Clearpace to partner with an experienced IT services provider such as 2e2, who have the vision and expertise to deliver integrated solutions to market.” said John Bantleman, CEO of Clearpace, “Many companies have reached an inflexion point where they are generating more data than they can economically manage. These companies are looking for advice and guidance from trusted partners such as 2e2, to help them overcome the burden of long term data retention. In particular, 2e2’s Oracle expertise will allow them to become the service provider of choice for addressing the issues associated with large and growing Oracle applications.”
The integrated Clearpace NParchive and HP Database Archiving solution is available from 2e2 from 10th November 2008.
