QStar Completes 200 Medical Archiving Installations

QStar Technologies, Inc., in archive and data protection solutions, announced that it has shipped over 200 medical customer installations worldwide for 2008. QStar’s expanding number of medical installations is further evidence of the rapidly growing list of companies deciding to reduce data center costs with technology that provides a lower- cost, greener approach to archive management in the medical space.

QStar’s storage management functionality, based on its award winning archive management software, easies the data management burden by automatically moving data between fast access disk technology and low-cost removable archive media. The solution is based on a hybrid storage structure which allows the medical enterprise’s reference data to be managed on available disk stores, and provides data protection with cost effective off-line expansion of archives by moving or copying data to removable media when needed. QStar utilizes multiple levels of functionality so the solution can be customized as the customer needs it.

SntryPACS, QStar’s integrated PACS solution relies on an appliance-based foundation and industry-standard DICOM architecture to bring to market a fully integrated storage and database appliance that is purpose-built to move, route and store DICOM images over a network.
