These deliver unique breakthroughs in terms of performance and end-to-end customer networking capabilities, and empower customers who are considering and deploying server virtualisation as part of their data centre strategy.
Brocade led the data centre networking industry in being the first and only company to deliver a comprehensive portfolio of 8 Gbit/Sec Fibre Channel solutions that include backbones, directors, fabric switches, embedded switches and host bus adapters. The 8 Gbit/sec family of switches offers unprecedented SAN performance to meet the expanding application workloads and relentless growth of corporate data. This performance is an important factor in highly virtualised environments. Together, the new products offer unmatched server-to-storage connectivity and capabilities, supporting features such as fabric Quality of Service (QoS), traffic management and other Adaptive Networking services that benefit evolving data centres.
"Fujitsu Siemens Computers and Brocade share a vision that the evolving data centre must embrace server virtualisation to optimise asset utilisation and empower end-to-end data centre operations – by delivering these 8Gbit/sec solutions we are providing businesses with the tools to do just that," said Helmut Beck, Vice President Storage at Fujitsu Siemens Computers. This announcement also marks Fujitsu Siemens Computers’ own evolution toward 8Gbit/sec networking solutions. In addition to offering Brocade’s products, the company is upgrading its portfolio of demo centres across Europe to include 1, 2, 4 and 8Gbit/sec technology, thereby allowing customers to rigorously test and assess all product lines before committing to a purchase. Demo centres are currently located in Germany, Belgium and the UK, with further installations planned.
