With the addition of FalconStor’s enterprise-grade data protection software to its portfolio, Starline aims to target the growing market for high performance and high availability storage solutions. The arrangement will enable Kirchheim/Teck-based Starline – which specializes in storage and RAID hardware – to provide total solutions including FalconStor Network Storage Server (NSS) and FalconStor Virtual Tape Library (VTL) with data duplication. Starline currently offers FalconStor NSS and FalconStor VTL with data deduplication on Intel quad-core-processor-based servers, and easyRAID Q12PS-F4R2/Q16PS-F4R3 Fibre Channel disk arrays.
”The FalconStor NSS solution is to be designed without a single point of failure – offering the advantage of centralized administration for all SAN resources as well as client connection with almost native performance,” said Steffen Horlacher, virtualization specialist at Starline. ”The open architecture guarantees perfect integration into heterogeneous environments."
