In addition to its RAID drive reliability the LinkStation Quad is loaded with abundant multimedia and data management features. Allowing consumers to instantly store, access, back up and share multimedia files and other digital assets from any computer on their home network. The LinkStation Quad features a new BitTorrent client, enabling consumers to access and download multimedia files without the need of a PC running during the download and a built-in DLNA multimedia server, which can stream digital content directly to any DLNA player on your network. For easy upload of multimedia files, a DirectCopy feature enables the LinkStation Quad to automatically save multimedia files from any USB enabled camera, flash or storage device directly to its internal hard drives. Finally, with Buffalo’s anytime, anywhere Web Access feature, now optimized for the iPhone, you will never be far from your music, videos or photos- best of all you can not only access files, but also upload files to your Quad at home.

While the LinkStation Quad ships in RAID5, providing the best balance between security and available storage space by default, the Quad also supports RAID 0, 1, 10 and JBOD modes. Additionally, the LinkStation Quad features a heavy-duty cooling system, allowing the unit to run cool and quite at the same time. A snap-off front plate allows for quick and easy drive replacements without the need to shut down the unit.
