IBM DS6000 With 450GB 15,000rpm HDDs

The 450 GB 15,000 rpm disk drives can support up to 50% increased throughput and increased I/O operations per second as compared to similar size 10,000 rpm disk drives, to benefit transaction processing workloads.
Physical capacity for the DS6000 series is purchased via disk drives. A disk drive set contains four identical disk drives (same capacity and rpm). The DS6000 series now offers the 450 GB 15,000 rpm disk drives that are designed to provide additional price/performance and capacity flexibility to address specific application and business requirements. This support is in addition to the already supported 73 GB (15,000 rpm), 146 GB (10,000 rpm), 146 GB (15,000 rpm), 300 GB (10,000 rpm), and 300 GB (15,000 rpm) disk drive sets, as well as intermix of 73 GB, 146 GB, 300 GB, or 450 GB disk drives. The 450 GB 15,000 rpm disk drive sets are optional to the DS6000 series and are available with feature number 2072.
