EMC at Gitex 2008 in Dubai

With partners' stands: Dell, Emirates Computers, MDS and Iomega

Helping visitors to understand how they can transform their IT information landscape will be high on the agenda for EMC Corporation when it meets customers on its partners’ stands at GITEX Technology week 2008 which takes place October 19-23 in Dubai, UAE. As leaders in information infrastructure solutions, EMC will utilize its presence at the largest regional IT exhibition to announce its latest storage and enterprise content management technologies and innovative solutions. EMC will also meet and work with both existing and potential customers to recognize and help them overcome their information infrastructure challenges.

On the storage front, visitors to EMC partner Dell’s stand will have the opportunity to gain a firsthand understanding of the recently launched EMC CLARiiON CX4 Series of midrange networked storage systems. EMC professionals will be on hand to demonstrate how the advanced CX4 system offers comprehensive support for virtualized environments with expandable Fibre Channel and iSCSI connectivity and advanced data protection. In addition, customers will have the opportunity to learn how the CX4 next-generation architecture lowers costs and energy use through innovative technologies such as flash drives, unique UltraFlex technology, and virtual provisioning.

EMC’s Velocity Channel Partner MDS will showcase the EMC Celerra NS and will shed the light on the NX4 unified storage system – the new entry point to the industry-leading EMC Celerra series, showing stand visitors how they can achieve the best-in-class ease of use, reliability and flexibility for NAS, iSCSI and Fibre Channel Environments with advanced functionality at no extra cost to lower Total Cost of Ownership. The MDS stand will also feature the latest EMC Back Up Recovery and Archiving solutions and will demonstrate source based de-duplication with EMC Avamar technology to show customers how backup windows can be shrunk to a fraction of traditional values thus saving time and money; customers will witness how 1 TB data can be backed up over 1 Mbit network within minutes.

Customers seeking information about Enterprise Content Management can visit the eSolutions stand where EMC will be presenting the advanced features of the recently launched Documentum Enterprise Content Management (ECM) Suite version 6.5 – a family of products that marries the great user experience of Web 2.0 and the strength of the enterprise-class Documentum platform to deliver a balance between business agility and IT control. Customers and users of Web 2.0 will be introduced to several key innovations that deliver a rich Web 2.0 user experience and enhanced XML capabilities, whilst delivering improved enterprise performance and scalability.

Iomega, an EMC company, will be launching on their stand the new Iomega eGo Helium portable hard drive USB 2.0 320GB – a perfect match for the style and incremental storage needs of Apple’s revolutionary MacBook Air notebook – meeting the needs of both SMB customers and consumers who visit the show.

EMC will also be hosting joint seminars with its Velocity Channel Partners to address the day’s most pressing IT business challenges including optimization and consolidation of information infrastructure and how to maintain information availability and superior levels of service while attempting to reduce energy consumption and overall costs.
