Enabling centralized SAN management
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on October 20, 2008 at 3:00 pmChelsio Communications, Inc. announced availability of iSCSI Boot software for its industry-leading 10GbE Storage Accelerators, enabling centralized storage network (SAN) management of operating systems such as Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux at a lower cost of ownership than other solutions.
The iSCSI Boot software lowers total cost of ownership through centralized management and reduced hardware costs while increasing performance through Chelsio’s leading protocol offload technology. Configuring the iSCSI Boot software is easily accomplished using an intuitive configuration utility.
In addition to iSCSI Boot, Chelsio is also announcing availability of its newest iSCSI Target version 4.2 software. Chelsio’s iSCSI Boot and iSCSI Target software is available now for Linux and Windows Server 2003 operating systems and is bundled with Chelsio’s Storage Accelerator adapter cards. The iSCSI Boot software augments Chelsio’s existing PXE and EFI boot solutions to enable a wide range of deployment for Chelsio’s adapters.
"Along with our iSCSI Target software, we have a complete iSCSI solution for lower-cost storage area networks," said Kianoosh Naghshineh, president and CEO of Chelsio. "Our 10GbE Storage Accelerators have features that were previously only achievable with expensive, single purpose Fibre Channel equipment and we now have the software available to enable rapid deployment."
