Plextor Duo-NAS Up to 2TB

Plextor announces a new range of NAS  [Network-attached Storage] drives comprising two HDDs which are hot-swappable  for maximum flexibility. PC and Mac-compatible, the Plextor StorX Duo-HDD NAS drives are available in three capacities  – offering up to 2TB of storage. They are high-speed, easy to use NAS devices providing an excellent data storage and sharing solution  for your Small Office or Home Office (SOHO) or even for home users.

 As storage requirements are ever-increasing, critical for SOHO users is the ability to easily store, share, secure and back-up important data over the network. The Plextor StorX is designed to do just that. It supports a 2-drive solution that can be configured for performance (RAID 0) or redundant storage (RAID 1). To ensure optimum data integrity, the drives are hot-swappable/hot-pluggable. The device is easily configured via a user-friendly Web-based interface  and includes NAS backup software Backup4all.

In the event of users finding they are starting to run out of space again, they can simply add another hard drive to the Plextor StorX unit via USB to extend the storage capacity. It is equipped with two USB ports, one at the rear for NAS backup to USB storage, USB printer support or online sharing of a USB storage device and one on the front so you can easily backup files from attached USB storage devices via the  one touch ‘Backup’ button.

The Plextor StorX DUO-HDD NAS range is available in 3 capacities:

• PX-NAS2X500L (2 x HDDs of 500GB each = 1TB)
• PX-NAS2X750L (2 x HDDs of 750GB each = 1.5TB)
• PX-NAS2X1000L (2 x HDDs of 1TB each = 2TB)

In addition to offering significant extra storage, the Plextor StorX devices come equipped with useful features, including a print server  that can share a printer over the network when connected to it via USB, and an automated backup scheduler  from the NAS to a USB-connected external HDD. Additionally, the NAS, which has the ability to operate over GigaLAN networks  (10/100/1000 Mbps), is both secure and flexible: it includes a high security feature  enabling the administrator to limit access to certain folders; and it can be configured as a dedicated FTP server .
