iVDR Started International Standardization
For its removable HDD technology
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on September 23, 2008 at 3:51 pmiVDR Hard Disk Drive Consortium has started International Standardization activities of iVDR specifications, in order to attempt a further spread promotion of the iVDR products. At the end of July in 2008, for the first step of International Standardization, it proposed NP (document number : SC23/N1520) of iVDR hardware specification as an international proposal item, from Japan NB to the world through ISO/IEC JTC1. The consortiumis aiming at the Approval of International Standard in the end of 2009.
Purpose of this iVDR’s International Standardization activities are:
- Promotion of iVDR products
- Market expansion by international procurement (Example : WTO/TBT Agreement)
- Risk decrease (Example : Antimonopoly Law) and so on.
