Intransa Expands StorAlliance Technology Partner and Certification Program
For its external IP storage solutions
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on September 18, 2008 at 3:50 pmIntransa, Inc. announced the continued expansion of its StorAlliance Technology Partner and certification program. Designed to propel the compatibility and growth of both industry-leading and up-and-coming software and hardware vendors, the Intransa StorAlliance Technology Partner program provides security practitioners with affordable and dependable solutions. Customers are guaranteed Intransa’s IP storage products integrate seamlessly with video management and security applications, existing DVRs and both analog and digital surveillance cameras. StorAlliance was the first IP storage certification program for the physical security industry, and remains the most widely adopted.
The Intransa StorAlliance Technology Partner program assists framework suppliers leverage existing video surveillance infrastructures by adding new capabilities, while providing integrators with the opportunity to reduce support costs and challenges and ensure non-stop video recording. The program also assists video analytics and video management suppliers in recording and retaining more video in less total capacity than individual DVRs. Intransa has adopted a 100 percent channel strategy to provide complete customer ready solutions that are cost effective for edge recording or for one or more DVR-based CCTV surveillance systems that require increased capacity and reliability, or for new, all-IP solutions.
“With our unique approach to IP storage for physical security, partners throughout the industry can capitalize on the growing customer need for seamless, reliable integration,” said Jeff Whitney, vice president, Marketing for Intransa. “With the StorAlliance program, partners can accelerate their growth, differentiate their business and drive to greater profitability with the knowledge that they have partnered with a recognized Video Surveillance Storage leader and their efforts will benefit their customers.”
Digital Video Recorder (DVR) systems have revolutionized video surveillance. Tape storage, tape wear and human error are reduced and eliminated by storing images and information to DVRs. Today, security practitioners using DVRs are increasingly experiencing inconsistent reliability and unacceptable video capacity limits and costs. IP storage can eliminate these issues, and the Intransa StorAlliance certification program eliminates risks for the security practitioner customer.
“Intransa has successfully provided shared storage for the broadest of physical security installations from the single edge Cisco ISR user to the large centralized casino operation,” said Steve Collen, director of business development for Cisco’s Physical Security Business Unit. “Intransa is a Cisco CTDP EcoSystem Partner offering high performance for video recording in a compact, green and cost-effective footprint.”
As part of the certification process, physical security industry products have been tested and integrated successfully with Intransa edge recording platforms through to central video repositories and multi-site IP video storage platforms. Physical security products include access control systems, card readers, digital video recorders, framework/infrastructure systems, IP network cameras, megapixel cameras, network and compression modules, network video recorders, physical security information managers, video analytics modules and workflow systems.
As part of the Security Grade IP Video Storage Certification program, Intransa funds an extensive laboratory facility in San Jose, California, to reduce the customer risk in integrating IP-based technology for physical security, video surveillance, quality assurance and supply chain surveillance, process control, industrial video and related markets. Participants are able to complete their integration and testing process at the San Jose lab, or through the GSO 2010/GSI 2010 Lab program. As a final option, an audit can be performance by Intransa StorAlliance Technology Lab personnel at pre-approved vendor facilities when a 3rd party lab is used, ensuring the same high integration testing standards as the other facilities.
Nearly 100 applications have successfully been tested through the StorAlliance Technology Lab. Recent partners to join the StorAlliance include Agent VI, Basler Vision, CommendUSA, CoreStreet, Exacq Technologies, Genetec, Grandeye Inc., Imprivata, Infront, KABA, N2NSecure, Phoenix IVS, Quantum Secure, RFI and TimeSight.
