O&O DiskImage 3 Server and Workstation Editions Released

O&O Software GmbH of Berlin, Germany has released the new products O&O DiskImage 3 Workstation and Server Editions. The Server and Workstation editions create reliable data images across a network. The central network control is based on Microsoft SQL Server, and will be delivered for the first time as a separate tool, in the form the O&O Enterprise Management Console 2. The new time scheduling enables the setting up of wholly or partly automated processes. Detailed result reports provide informative data on completed image procedures. The retrospective loading of those drivers not available by default is a further function of O&O DiskImage 3. The O&O DriverLoader enables missing drivers to be loaded after the event over external storage media. The Start CD included in delivery means images can be created of already damaged operating systems, and data can be restored with no need for prior installation, all based on Windows PE (Bare-Metal Option).

New and overhauled functions
O&O DiskImage 3 Server and Workstation editions can be controlled and managed centrally across an entire network. For the first time, version 3 now includes in delivery the network instrument O&O Enterprise Management Console 2. Administrators and administrator groups can now control O&O DiskImage 3 across a network. Based on Microsoft SQL Server, O&O Enterprise Management Console 2 can be integrated into existing Microsoft SQL database structures or alternatively into the Microsoft SQL Server Express, also included in delivery. Purchasing a missing SQL Server can also be avoided this way. The concept of the O&O Enterprise Management Console 2 is based on an intensive exchange of information and experience between the developers and IT specialists on the ground. Whilst O&O DiskImage 3 Workstation and Server are the only products that can be controlled by the Management console at the moment, more O&O products will follow in due course.

O&O DiskImage 3 supports process automation in the Server and Workstation editions. Time scheduling and other functions can also be controlled through command line instructions. The integrated script function and ability to integrate parameters before and after a job mean it is also possible to adapt O&O DiskImage 3 outside of a central management environment. Users can create user-defined imaging profiles. Time scheduling is made much easier thanks to the Job Assistant. O&O DiskImage 3 creates comprehensive, detailed reports to accommodate precise monitoring of the image process, status and imaging environment. Detailed information is immediately to hand with just one click.

The efficiency of data compression and encryption has been much improved in version 3. Imaging and restoration at the push of a button have also been adapted and improved upon.

The integrated Bare-Metal Technology in O&O DiskImage 3 can image data on systems that are already damaged. The Bare-Metal option is based on the latest Windows Preinstallation Environment.

Thanks to the O&O DriverLoader, drivers not available by default can be retrospectively loaded with O&O DiskImage 3. This is where the Start CD comes in. The CD is based on Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and therefore contains all standard Windows drivers. Non-standard drivers can be loaded over external storage volumes. O&O DiskImage 3 supports a wide range of storage volumes, such as dynamic drives, GPT formatted hard disks and RAID systems.

O&O DiskImage 3 runs in its entirety on 32-Bit and 64-Bit server operating systems under Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista.
