NetApp Opens Facility in Vienna, VA

To focus on federal, state, local, and K-12 education customers

On Monday, September 8, 2008, NetApp hold an open house for its new U.S. Public Sector facility located in Vienna, Virginia. The new location, which will focus on federal, state, local, and K-12 education customers, is designed to facilitate larger and more frequent customer and partner meetings. The facility will also enable all Washington, D.C.-based NetApp U.S. Public Sector sales, marketing, engineering, services, and operations teams to be colocated.

"This move is a testament to the support of our customers and partners and the success we have achieved in the U.S. public sector," said Mark Weber, president and general manager of NetApp’s U.S. Public Sector division. "We are very excited about the opportunity this office affords us to provide our customers and partners the world-class service and experience they expect from NetApp, as well as technology training, and enhanced demo abilities, right here in our Vienna office."

NetApp has had a long-term presence in the D.C. area, opening its doors
as the NetApp Federal Office in June 1999 and becoming the NetApp U.S.
Public Sector Office in May 2008. The company currently employs 220
employees in the region and has room to accommodate up to 350 in the
new space. NetApp Public Sector continually makes significant
contributions to overall revenues, reporting 11% of total revenue
within the Americas for each of the last two quarters.
