OpenTech Adds Real-Time Recovery Monitor for DR Backups

OpenTech Systems, Inc., provider of Disaster Recovery Assurance and Storage Management Solutions for IBM z/OS centric data centers, announced the addition of a real-time recovery monitoring capability to its DR/Xpert Graphical User Interface.

OpenTech System’s DR/Xpert now includes extensive real-time monitoring of backup and recovery jobs and monitors the recovery of critical application datasets in real-time. The addition of a real-time monitor distinguishes DR/Xpert from similar products which only offer a static graphical interface for viewing reports after the recovery process is completed. DR/Xpert’s recovery monitor uses color coded progress bars associated with each job, application and dataset so the user can see, at a glance, just how the recovery is progressing. In addition, the real-time monitor uses color coded pie charts to display the recovery progress in terms of gigabytes recovered and gigabytes remaining as well as datasets recovered and datasets remaining. Each recovery job along with the application datasets being recovered is listed and each changes color when it has been recovered.
