BlueArc Gains Momentum in U.S. Federal Government Sector

Tom Ireland named director of federal sales.

BlueArc Corporation continues to grow its business with federal government agencies by increasing its focus and presence in the federal market. immixGroup, a leading provider of enterprise technology products and services in the government market, recently added BlueArc to its U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule contract and NASA Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement (SEWP) IV contract. In addition, BlueArc has expanded its sales team and channel relationships that serve government customers with proven solutions for unsurpassed performance along with ease of use and security.

Being added to these two federal purchasing contracts makes it easier for federal customers to procure BlueArc technology, by pre-establishing terms and conditions, standardizing pricing, and streamlining the process in which technology is purchased by the federal government. Having these contracts is crucial in both attracting new federal customers, and demonstrating a serious commitment to the federal market.

BlueArc has chosen Tom Ireland, a 20 year federal IT veteran, to fill the recently created position as director of federal sales. He leads a newly expanded, federal-dedicated team of BlueArc sales and solution engineering personnel who work with federal customers and partners. BlueArc has also joined with a select group of channel partners who bring government-focused resources and add value through deep understanding of customers’ distinct performance and security requirements. Together, BlueArc and its partners including FedTek, immixGroup, Kinney Group and ViON, deliver solutions that not only sustain or boost performance, but also simplify maintenance and administration for government agencies. BlueArc’s Titan offers world-record-holding speed and unparalleled capacity — up to 4 petabytes in a single namespace — so that lean government IT teams do not have to acquire expertise in managing an increasingly complicated infrastructure.

"Federal government agencies often come to us with a request to replace storage area networks whose performance benefits are overshadowed by the difficulty of implementation and even poor usability," said Art Richer, president, immixGroup, Inc. "Titan’s combination of performance, capacity, ease of use and security — plus the attention of an experienced partner — persuades many of our government customers to replace or enhance existing storage infrastructure with BlueArc technology."

BlueArc federal government customers include major Department of Energy labs, NASA, National Institutes of Health, Department of Justice, Defense Department including Army, Navy, and Air Force, and groups within the Federal Intelligence Communities, along with several of the major Federal Prime Integrators.

"As Federal Government agencies work to address the formidable challenges of climate change, space exploration, public health and national security, their work — and related storage requirements — are growing more complex," said Mike Gustafson, president and CEO, BlueArc. "By adding dedicated resources and expanding partner relationships, BlueArc is bolstering its commitment to providing government customers with the technology and expertise they need to do work that ultimately benefits — and protects — millions of Americans."
