RELDATA Released Block Data Migration at $8,495
For its iSCSI SAN
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on August 21, 2008 at 3:54 pmRELDATA released a simpler Block Data Migration solution for RELDATA 9240 customers that eases the process and pain of data movement without disrupting IT operations.
"With non-disruptive block data migration, RELDATA 9240 iSCSI SAN customers can move data between virtual data volumes without disrupting the supporting application," said David Hubbard, CEO of RELDATA. "In addition, RELDATA customers can migrate data from Fibre Channel direct attached storage (DAS) to a RELDATA iSCSI SAN without application disruption, and migrate data from a Fibre Channel SAN to a RELDATA iSCSI SAN without application disruption."
Customers benefit from:
- No application impact after initial reconfiguration
- Transparent and efficient data movement with progress monitoring
- No additional egregious license or service fees per terabyte or number of LUNs migrated
- Low overhead of less than 20% compared to native LUN speeds
- Centralized GUI management and resource monitoring
"Storage administrators are constantly moving data around their IT infrastructure, often disrupting the supporting application," said Marc Staimer, President & CDS of Dragon Slayer Consulting. "As the volume of data migration increases to hundreds of terabytes or petabytes, it takes much longer to move the data, thereby causing unacceptable application disruption. RELDATA’s data migration software delivers a cost effective way to move data while increasing application availability."
Non-Disruptive Data Migration is an optional license that is available to RELDATA 9240 iSCSI SAN customers at an MSRP of $8,495.
