UK Q Associates Exceeds $1 Million in Sales With Sepaton

SEPATON, Inc.  announced sales figures of more than $1 million USD through UK enterprise technology reseller Q Associates, just six months after selecting the company as a UK Catalyst Partner. Q Associates, which partnered with SEPATON in January 2008, is tasked with reselling SEPATON’s S2100-ES2 virtual tape library (VTL), DeltaStor data deduplication software and other products geared towards the enterprise business market.

SEPATON’s ContentAware VTL technology provides all the benefits of disk storage, whilst enabling longer online data retention to meet SLAs. DeltaStor deduplication software resold by Q Associates produces higher levels of data reduction than is possible with compression and other deduplication technologies. This approach performs deduplication outside the primary data path, enabling it to deliver wire speed Fibre Channel backup performance.

Unlike other technologies that use hashing algorithms to find redundancies in byte streams, DeltaStor deduplication software looks at objects and compares them to other objects (e.g., Word document to Word document or Oracle database to Oracle database.) This object-level comparison enables a faster, more accurate deduplication process and contributes to significantly higher deduplication ratios.
