This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on August 16, 2008 at 3:12 pmNewTech Infosystems, Inc. (NTI) announced the availability of all four editions of its Backup Now 5 backup and recovery software for Windows PCs. Recognized as the most comprehensive and the easiest backup and recovery solution, Backup Now’s appeal has been strengthened by addressing the needs of individual users and providing a completely modular upgrade path. NTI is now offering the Standard, Continuous, Image and Advanced editions of Backup Now 5 with newly reduced pricing of US$20.00 to US$30.00 off the original MSRPs.
NTI’s newest version of Backup Now is the only backup software to provide four tiered editions and a completely modular upgrade path. With four tiers to choose from, stand-alone, mobile and network computer users can buy the features they need now and can cost-effectively move up to the next tier as their needs change. NTI Backup Now Continuous and Image versions can be upgraded to the Advanced edition for only US$20.00. Standard edition users can move up to the Advanced edition for US$40.00.
Like the previous versions, the new editions of Backup Now 5 take the confusion and complexity out of data protection for inexperienced users while providing power users with flexibility and control. With NTI’s trademarked Easy Steps interface, users simply select what they want to backup, where to back it up and when.
All versions of Backup Now 5 continue to offer individual file/folder backup to virtually any system-attached drive including USB flash, mobile storage devices (micro drives), internal and external hard drives, NAS devices, and more. Other features range from 128/256-bit data encryption and password protection to disc and hard drive spanning. With the easy-to-use wizard-driven scheduler, unattended backups can be quickly set up.

With the email and profile backup/recovery tools that are included, users can archive their important emails and critical data files as well as their current Windows configuration for their desktop layout, regional settings, bookmarks and more. This gives users the flexibility to quickly recover individual files that have been lost or restore the entire system to its backed-up state.
The Continuous Edition provides offers all of the features in the Standard Edition plus the ability to automatically back up data, photo, audio and video files every time a change occurs. Backup schedules can also be set by the minute, hour, day, week and start time(s). Users have the option of saving an unlimited number of revisions, a specific number of revisions (1-1000) or no revisions to ensure that backups are always kept in sync with the original file. In addition to conveniently executing backup jobs transparently in the background without disturbing the user, this edition does not take up valuable PC resources that could slow system performance. With the files preserved in their native format, no additional software is necessary to restore files. To restore, users simply do a drag-and-drop or right-click and select restore on the files they want to recover. All Standard features are included.
With the Image Edition, NTI adds complete image backup capabilities. Users can restore their entire hard drive including the operating system, all applications and all data in a simple, one-step process. For complete volume recovery, a bootable emergency recovery disc can be created that automatically restores the system. Users also have the tools they need to create partitioning on a blank disc. All Standard features are included.
The Advanced Edition includes all of the backup support available with the other three editions (file-level, image, continuous), and one-step complete restoring plus the ultimate in backup and recovery–backup of open files that are in use.
