From CFC, Combination of Business Continuity Planning Software, Storage and Support

Offering financial institutions online capabilities

CFC Technology Corporation announced that it has introduced BCPlanLogix Business Recovery Software & Secure Plan Retention, which will allow the company’s financial institution customers to create, change and manage a plan online. The plan resides electronically offsite in a secure datacenter and is accessible from anywhere there is an Internet connection in the event disaster strikes.

For those who would like to maintain a paper version of the plan based on online contents, one can be printed out from the software’s report function.

Occasionally, when developing a plan, a person or a team assigned to oversee their institution’s Business Continuity Plan have to go it alone with minimal or no direction. The solution counters the go-it-alone strategy. Support is available to help guide users through the steps required to start and manage a plan.

Members of CFC Technology’s Advisory Services Group, using the software tool, can either closely assist an institution with its planning obligations, or assume 100 percent plan development responsibilities on behalf of an institution.

"Members of the Advisory Services Group, who have assisted institutions develop and maintain their manual plans using paper-in-binder methods, recognized that there had to be a better solution relying on basic Internet and offsite storage technologies," said Bill Ristvedt, president of CFC Technology Corporation. "As former institution operations officers, their vision, ideas and experiences strongly influenced the design of BCPlanLogix Business Recovery Software & Secure Plan Retention."

Regulation Compliance

Regulations require financial institutions to insure business continuity of their operations after a disaster or failure affects them. The FDIC/OCC Information Systems Exam (OCC Bulletin 2003-18 and 2003-14) requires financial institutions to provide a copy of their plan. The plan must be tested, and documented test results must be provided.

To help achieve these ends, BCPlanLogix Business Recovery Software (Business Continuity Planning) guides users online by way of a logical order of modules with the end result being a plan that meets current regulatory requirements. It also serves testing and training requirements, with easy-to-use documentation and staff training tools.
