Peter O’Brien VP of Business Development at InMage

He just left Diligent where he served as VP of OEM sales.

InMage Systems, Inc. announced that industry veteran Peter O’Brien has joined the company as vice president of business development. Mr. O’Brien has over 28 years of experience in Silicon Valley, specializing in strategic channel and OEM partnerships for young companies. He will focus on creating new business and revenue opportunities for InMage, including OEM relationships with tier one hardware and software suppliers.

Mr. O’Brien’s early career experience includes a 12 year tenure at Sun Microsystems, where he held various sales and management positions. He joined software pioneer VERITAS Software Corp. in 1998, growing OEM sales from $26 million to $226 million in just three years. Mr. O’Brien subsequently served as senior director of sales for Rhapsody Networks, where he positioned the company as a leading provider of networking and intelligent switching platforms, contributing to its acquisition by Brocade Communications Systems in January 2003.


Most recently, Mr. O’Brien served as vice president of OEM sales at Diligent Technology
, an enterprise de-duplication pioneer acquired by IBM in April 2008. He was integral in establishing some of Diligent’s most successful partnerships, including those with Sun Microsystems and Overland Storage. Mr. O’Brien also held senior management positions with Mendocino Software and Sistina Software, a Linux clustering company eventually purchased by Red Hat Software.
