JDSU WaveReady Receives Brocade Data Center Ready Status

This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on June 16, 2008 at 3:48 pmJDSU announced that its WaveReady 3000 series has been verified by Brocade Communications Systems, Inc. as compatible with Brocade-based Storage Area Network (SAN) infrastructures according to the testing requirements of the Brocade Data Center Ready Program. The program is an initiative designed to foster interoperability in multi-vendor Brocade-based data center environments.

The Data Center Ready program is an example of our continued commitment to our customers.”
Testing of the WaveReady Transport System was conducted at the Brocade Data Center Ready labs, state-of-the-art facilities supporting end-to-end interoperability and performance testing of SAN products in multi-vendor and large fabric environments. The Brocade Data Center Ready Program was launched in 2000.

The WaveReady product line offers a flexible WDM transport solution that can extend the reach of SANs. WaveReady multirate transponders support FC100 (1.0625 Gbps), FC200 (2.125 Gbps), FC400 (4.25 Gbps), and 10GFC (10.518 Gbps) Fibre Channel interfaces and, combined with amplifiers, extend the reach of SAN services to over 175 Km. WaveReady offers a simple and reliable transport solution for data center connectivity, remote back-up and disaster and recovery network deployments.
JDSU’s WaveReady Product Line
Addressing existing customer needs and anticipating future requirements of optical networks, JDSU’s WaveReady product line offers a wide variety of transport solutions giving services providers and network operators a simple and cost-effective optical platform to address their diverse optical networking needs. The WaveReady platform offers compact and flexible CWDM and DWDM optical transponders and regenerators capable of transporting services (including OTN, SONET, Ethernet, and fibre channel) at any rate between 125 Mbps and 11.1 Gbps.
