Diskeeper Reveals Defrag Solution for Exchange Servers
In Europe
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on June 10, 2008 at 3:03 pmDiskeeper Corporation Europe reveals that Diskeeper 2008 Enterprise Server improves Exchange servers’ performance and reliability at all times; operating with outmost security in the background, it represents the safest and most efficient solution on the market.
With the constant I/O that goes on with busy Exchange servers, fragmentation of files and free space can substantially degrade system performance and increase backup times on heavily used servers.
Jason Jonilis, MNJ Technologies, speaking about the improvements noticed after installing Diskeeper on its system, says: "We found the biggest improvements in stability and speed were on Web servers and Exchange servers. After a month of running Diskeeper on our main Exchange server, the backup times and reboot times were cut by nearly 20%."
SQL servers, which also greatly suffer from fragmentation, are used by Exchange servers as backends. Such an association rapidly increases the levels of overall fragmentation. Problems such as slow-downs, crashes and freeze-ups, longer back ups and anti-virus scans will make it a priority for all IT administrators to address the problem swiftly.
It is however a necessity that defragmentation is only done when it’s not at the expense of existing system performance. Diskeeper monitors all hard-disk drives and defragments individual files using only idle resources. This is made possible by the technology called InvisiTasking which enables Diskeeper to operate in the background with no impact on resources. This means it will immediately stand down when any higher priority application is in use and only operate during system slack periods.
By keeping Exchange and SQL Servers free of fragmentation with Diskeeper 2008, speed of database reads and writes can be greatly enhanced.
