RaveHD Removable Drive System (Rds-1)

The Bravo is a 3U Rackmount unit that supports two removable SixPak canisters that can house both SATA and SAS drives and has the ability to be configured to support stereoscopic or A/B camera projects in a variety of formats. Each camera or eye records to a dedicated SixPak canister which can be safely removed and replaced at any time while the other is running, giving the unit an added round-robin benefit if one wishes. The Bravo also offers the ability to make exact clones/dubs as quickly as content can stream off the drives, versus having to go out of the systems resources and rely on other products and protocols to do this. In addition to the local storage paks the Bravo can also be connected into a SAN, offering the ability to play and record directly to/from the SAN as well as move content to and from the portable canisters.  The easily changeable drive packs can be configured with 1 to 6 drives to accommodate the various formats and capacity needs, thus allowing users to stock the units much like they would tape.

"The RaveHD Bravo is the solution that many studios wanted to see from us", comments Ramona Howard, COO of SpectSoft. "This unit gives them even more flexibility than they had before with RaveHD and allows them an easy way to share content and metadata, be it next door, across town or in another country. Eliminating the ingest process at every step of the process speeds things up considerably, along with the ability to eliminate possible mistakes made along the way. The frames that end up in Post are the frames ingested on location".

RaveHD offers tools to bridge the film, video and data gap and is the the only Linux based solution that releases its source code to its end users for integration. RaveHD continues to be the choice for many studios who are looking for an inexpensive, solid deck replacement in an easy to use, yet flexible product.
