Data Domain Selects Chelsio

To interconnect dedup with 10Gb Ethernet adapters

Chelsio Communications, Inc. announced its 10GbE Unified Wire adapters have been selected by Data Domain as the high performance Ethernet interconnect option for its recently introduced DD690, the industry’s highest performance inline deduplication storage system for backup and other nearline storage applications.

Data Domain is the leading provider of deduplication storage systems. Chelsio’s family of S310 10GbE Storage Accelerators, the industry’s highest performance 10GbE adapter, is fully qualified and available today from Data Domain.

With the introduction of our new high-end DD690, Data Domain needed a 10GbE interconnect that could deliver the speed and reliability to meet the demands of large enterprise implementations – and we chose Chelsio,” said Jay Anderson, director of platform engineering for Data Domain. “Chelsio was able to meet our stringent qualification requirements and their product achieves exceptional throughput levels.”
