CYA Launches Near-CDP to Protect EMC Documentum

CYA Technologies, a provider of complete granular recovery solutions for enterprise content management (ECM) systems, today announced CYA SmartRecovery 5.0 and CYA Recycle Bin version 2.0 supporting the EMC Documentum 6 enterprise content management platform.

CYA SmartRecovery is an application-aware, near-CDP solution that protects EMC Documentum repositories against more than 80 percent of all information loss incidents, which result from common, everyday occurrences such as programmatic, human, operational and logical errors, malfeasance, and metadata corruption. Using CYA SmartRecovery, a single administrator can recover one, several, or thousands of documents and their associated metadata (e.g. audit trails, workflows and digital signatures) back to their original state in minutes without taking EMC Documentum offline. CYA SmartRecovery enables ECM objects to be recovered back to any point in time, allowing objects that have been created or modified as little as 15 minutes ago to be recovered easily by one administrator. The solution can be deployed out-of-the-box in as little as three days.

CYA Recycle Bin is an ‘un-delete’ tool enabling EMC Documentum end-users to instantly restore files that they have accidentally deleted from the content repository back to their original location. The tool, which can be installed in less than one hour, reduces system support costs by eliminating the burden typically placed on IT staff and help desk personnel to manage individual recovery requests.

CYA SmartRecovery and CYA Recycle Bin, previously accredited as ‘Designed for EMC Documentum,” have both been validated on the EMC Documentum 6 platform and have been designated ‘Documentum 6 Ready’ by EMC. This demonstrates that they have met a comprehensive set of criteria for testing and quality integration with EMC Documentum 6, and gives joint customers confidence that the products meet high standards for architectural compliance with the EMC Documentum 6 platform.
