Pivot3 and ACG-Security Partner for U.S. Army Contract

For the Rapid Equipping Force project Bazaar

Pivot3, Inc. announced a partnership with ACG-Security, LLC, a service provider and system integrator for the federal market. The companies are making public a joint customer win, providing data storage solutions for the U.S. Army’s Rapid Equipping Force project Bazaar. As part of this project, ACG is collaborating with Pivot3, whose clustered storage array is being installed to support the data storage needs of a Terrestrial–Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (T-ISR) system for the U.S. Army in Iraq, offering superior situational awareness capability to vehicle-bound soldiers in combat.

ACG-Security, LLC was recruited to make major improvements to the Bazaar system deployed in 2007. The system captures 360 degree, geo-immersive route reconnaissance video data for Warfighters hunting Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), using Immersive Media’s cutting-edge camera and software technologies to record the action surrounding the vehicle during a mission. Bazaar manages these large volumes of collected video for use in operational and intelligence planning, while offering users the means to view, edit, review, and tailor products. To accomplish the significant challenge of storing and accessing this data, ACG has partnered with Pivot3 as the storage backbone.

Rapid deployment and field-flexibility are key requirements that the Pivot3 clustered storage brings to the project,” said Fred Kleibacker, CEO of ACG-Security. “Remembering where this is deployed, we needed a solution that was failure-resistant and would allow them to scale as their data needs grow. Because of its focus on video surveillance, the flexibility of its products, and how easily changes are implemented, Pivot3 met these requirements, and we are excited to work together on this project.

This partnership is a text-book case study showing how open-systems companies work together to simplify large-scale video deployments,” said Lee Caswell, founder and chief marketing officer of Pivot3. “By working together, the companies tap into ACG’s deep understanding of the field requirements and take advantage of Pivot3’s flexible, scalable storage. Government customers are increasingly looking to add video as a strategic data type, and the use of open systems makes large-scale storage supportable and affordable.
