BridgeHead Data Migrator Shipping for ProStor InfiniVault Archive Appliance
Solution to move data to the removable disk drive
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on May 3, 2008 at 3:44 pmBridgeHead Software, developer of Enterprise Data Archiving software, announced immediate availability and channel support for its FileStore Data Migrator for ProStor Systems’ InfiniVault archive appliance.
FileStore Data Migrator for InfiniVault (FDMI) is a low-cost utility that solution providers and end users can deploy to quickly and easily identify data within an organization’s file systems and seamlessly move and/or copy that data to the removable disk archiving system for the enterprise, ProStor’s InfiniVault.
“ProStor’s InfiniVault is one of the most exciting new storage technologies of recent years and is destined to become an IT infrastructure standard,” said Tony Cotterill, CEO, BridgeHead Software. “BridgeHead has worked closely with ProStor to design software that automatically and transparently identifies and moves data to this ideal archive storage location. BridgeHead’s FileStore Data Migrator for InfiniVault (FDMI) equips ProStor’s reseller channel to address their customers’ need to efficiently and effectively link the data in the enterprise with ProStor’s InfiniVault appliance without the need to change the application or user environment,” said Cotterill.
New hardware generally means reconfiguring infrastructure, having to change the location of where user files are stored and/or having to reconfigure the file storage that applications are using. FDMI from BridgeHead takes away this requirement and ensures that applications and users can continue working without interruption or intervention while data is moved to the new secondary storage location.
“BridgeHead’s FDMI is a software technology that augments the InfiniVault solution, with a rules engine that enables the user to define policies that automatically govern what data is moved into InfiniVault, when and how often. The combined solution of FDMI and InfiniVault provides for complete management and protection of corporate data throughout its life cycle,” said Steve Georgis, president and CEO at ProStor.
The core functionality built into the InfiniVault archive appliance makes it ideal for regulatory compliance. ProStor’s integrated Archive Compliance Engine provides a complete audit trail for every file to create a chain of custody report, while content addressable storage functionality verifies all content to ensure the integrity of the data. The combination of flexible retention management, WORM throughout the system for unalterable files, data encryption to meet privacy requirements and digital ‘shredding’ for secure file deletion makes the InfiniVault a simple, automated solution for most organizations that need to conform to government and industry regulations. Additionally, the rapid file search and recovery enabled by the RDX® removable disk technology meets the requirements of Federal Rules of Civil Procedures in legal holds and e-discovery. Privacy is assured with InfiniVault managing all encryption keys associated with each individual file.
InfiniVault archive appliance product is sold through a network of high-value resellers. FDMI from BridgeHead will be fully supported and available through the same ProStor reseller community.
