Transcend Generates $84 Million in March

Flash products contributed to 57%

Transcend’s global sales revenue in March totaled US$83.72 million, which is an increase of 9.6% from US$76.4 million in February. Cumulative sales revenue of the first quarter of 2008 reached a total of US$259.04 million, very close to the US$257.96 million revenue figure from the fourth quarter of 2007. Although overall product shipment increased 20% in March compared to February, the total sales revenue only went up 9.6% due to a decline of the average unit price.

As for Transcend’s March product shipment breakdown, flash memory products contributed to 57% of total sales, while DRAM modules accounted for 34.2%. In addition, new product lines including MP3 players, portable hard disk drives and digital photo frames amounted to 7.5% of the company’s total sales revenue.

Furthermore, Transcend’s product shipment in March reached a total of 6 million pieces, which greatly surpasses the total of 5.3 million pieces shipped in February. The major contributors to this total were flash-based products, of which 4.7 million units were shipped. Shipments of DRAM-based products and new product lines totaled 1.3 million pieces.
