Victor Tung VP Engineering for Verari

Coming from EMC and then DataDirect Networks

Verari Systems announced that Victor W. Tung has been appointed vice president, engineering. Tung will focus on helping accelerate Verari Systems’ key growth and efficiency initiatives leveraging his deep background in product development, testing and quality assurance, and will play a key role in setting strategic technology directions for the company.

Verari Systems’ solutions are on the cutting-edge on some of the industry’s most important technology trends including exponential storage growth and the emergence of Web 2.0 and grid markets,” said David B. Wright, chairman and CEO, Verari Systems. “Victor’s proven leadership ability combined with extensive management and engineering experience will be instrumental as Verari Systems’ drives its long-term, global strategic initiatives, which include rapidly deploying scalable, data center and energy efficient storage products.”

Prior to joining Verari Systems, Tung served as vice president of engineering at DataDirect Networks Inc., an enterprise storage solution provider. Tung joined DataDirect Networks from EMC, where he spent 14 years and directed the core intelligence of EMC’s Flagship Symmetrix Engineering to deliver enterprise storage systems to the market.

Tung is the holder of 13 patents on storage and data protection, and is an author of numerous technical papers. He holds a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from Northeastern University, Boston, MA, where he graduated cum laude from the Honor’s Program.
