Intradyn Launches Two e-Mail Archiving Appliances
Up to 4TB on SATA drives
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on April 21, 2008 at 2:46 pmIntradyn announced the immediate availability of the scalable ComplianceVault eSeries 2000 and 4000 product models. The eSeries 2000 and 4000 join the earlier announced ComplianceVault eSeries 8000. The ComplianceVault eSeries models are specifically designed with data center availability features for larger customers, while maintaining the cost saving benefits of an appliance solution. In addition, Intradyn also released a new API that provides developers the ability to integrate secure access to the active archive from 3rd party applications.
"The new eSeries Models specifically address the mission critical needs of the mid size to enterprise customer." said Brent Bowlby, Intradyn’s Chief Executive Officer. "Until now, the only real choices for these customers have been very complex software and hardware solutions that require significant up-front planning, days of installation and configuration, and in many cases up to two weeks of mandatory training. The new eSeries models dramatically reduce TCO and produce significant ROI over traditional email archiving and discovery solutions, due to its very nature of being an all-in-one appliance solution. Furthermore, the new API enables developers to write applications that take full advantage of the data mining features of the appliance from within other applications, for example a mobile device, etc."
Major enhancements include:
Remote Management – All eSeries models now come standard with Remote Management that is IPMI V2.0 Compliant, providing remote administrator access to the appliance from any network location, regardless of the state of the server.
Additional features of the new Remote Management features include:
- Support for a dedicated 10/100 Out of Band (OOB) management LAN channel
- Embedded Web UI – Remote power on/off, system health, system info., event log viewing
- Email alerting for hardware related events
- SMASH CLI/CLP, WS- MAN , SNMP traps for events
- Allows remote viewing and configuration in pre-boot POST and BIOS setup
Additional Storage Capacity – the 2000 model provides the customer with approximately 2TB of capacity and the 4000 model provides approximately 4TB of capacity. Both models use "server-class" SATA hard drives.
Improved Reliability – RAID 5 Protection is now standard in all eSeries models.
Faster processors – the new models incorporate the latest in CPU technology, using Intel’s new 45nm technology. The new processors provide up to 67% more processing capability compared to the processors used in the older models.
Increased memory – available RAM has been increased in both models.
Dual Power supplies are standard in 4000 and 8000 models.
All eSeries models include support for expanding to over 30TB with Intradyn’s xSeries Clustered Storage Arrays.
