C2C Archive One Supports Open Search 1.1 and Microsoft Search Server 2008
To aid with corporate governance and conformance
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on April 3, 2008 at 3:01 pmC2C announced an enhanced version of its Archive One software, adding new features to aid with corporate governance and conformance, to deal with the growing demands of compliance.
Archive One includes the addition of new and powerful tagging and searching capabilities to give administrators the ability to more easily identify and secure data that is, or may be, essential to internal or external legal requirements. In the UK, legislation that requires enhanced data control includes the Companies Act, Data Protection Act, Freedom of Information Act and Financial Service Act. With varying degrees of requirement an organization needs to pay attention to e-discovery issues and to have an email governance system in place to respond effectively when called upon for legal processes. Furthermore, companies with US offices or that are subsidiaries of US companies need to be aware of the recent US FRCP laws which require strong data control.
“The increase in litigation requiring supporting email evidence has put further demands on email administration, and because both UK and US laws do not mandate specific records management requirements, there can be a lack of clarity and certainty in how to meet them effectively,” says Dave Hunt, C2C CEO. “Email records can play a critical role in proving a company’s legal position in many instances, such as internal evidence when handling a customer complaint, an internal HR issue, or when demanded under a civil or legal requirement for a matter that has gone beyond the bounds of internal resolution.”
Archive One helps companies comply with these requests for evidence quickly and simply, and protects them from potentially crippling legal judgments for non-compliance. Because in some instances an email that is necessary to an external investigation will also be the focus of one or more different internal investigations or inquiries, each with its own demands for retention, Archive One permits any item to have multiple holds associated with it, allowing a single item to be treated as potential evidence in different investigations. In addition, reviewer’s notes can also be associated with items to aid HR or legal experts during their investigations.
C2C has also extended the search capabilities of Archive One by providing Archive Search Services, which provide a customer with new search access to the email archive including provision of a Federated Search Provider, Search Connectors and support of the OpenSearch V1.1 standard. Archive One Search Services allows an authenticated user of Microsoft Search Server secure access to vast amount of data held in the email archive and to have a single point of search to improve their productivity.
C2C offers the market’s most complete set of email archiving and management products which optimise email server performance, minimise compliance issues, manage mailbox size, enforce retention policies automatically and invisibly, enable full message search and e-discovery, control access rights and permissions, reduce risk associated with email, and integrates seamlessly with existing storage infrastructures, policies and procedures.
Archive One 5.4 is available now with pricing starting at £20 per Mailbox.
