FalconStor CDP on German Itzehoe Hospital

FalconStor Software, Inc.
announced the deployment of the FalconStor Continuous Data Protector
(CDP) solution at Itzehoe Hospital in Germany. Providing disaster
recovery for the hospital´s VMware and Microsoft Windows
infrastructure, the deployment has reduced downtime, licensing and
administrative costs, and provided faster data recovery and simplified
data management.

Hospital, said: “As a hospital deploying new technology such as virtual
machines, we need to ensure at all times that our data is protected
with a proven data protection solution. We selected the FalconStor CDP
because of its proven track record and its ability to provide the
highest levels of data availability possible via transparent, automatic
storage failover and fully-consistent snapshots.”

The protected data is comprised of 10TB of Oracle, Microsoft Exchange
and Microsoft SQL Server data, and unstructured user files stored on a
storage area network with HP storage subsystems. FalconStor CDP, in
conjunction with FalconStor Continuous Data Replication (CDR) and
snapshot agents for Exchange, Oracle and SQL Server, ensures that all
of the hospital´s systems are protected and can be rapidly and easily
recovered to a known good point in time.

FalconStor CDR unifies and delivers the advanced features
provided by both asynchronous mirroring and periodic delta replication
in a single software solution. With FalconStor CDP it protects servers,
workstations, and laptops in networked and direct attached storage
environments in the event of hardware or software failures and
site-level disasters.

The deployment at Itzehoe Hospital was completed by FalconStor
partner Janz Informationssysteme AG. Situated in the north of Germany,
Itzehoe is the capital of the Steinburg district in the German state of
Schleswig-Holstein. A commercial centre, the town has a population of
approximately 35,000.
