New SATA SLC Flash Disk by InnoDisk

InnoDisk Corporation, a Taipei-based embedded data storage manufacturer, announces the newest available 2.5-inch Serial ATA (SATA) flash drive – FiD 2.5-inch SATA 10000 – with the highest capacity SLC NAND flash drive at 128Gbytes. The 2.5-inch SATA interface FiD 2.5-inch SATA 10000 has a tough outer metal case, enormous capacities, high reliability, low power consumption, noise-free and anti-shock features that make it ideal to replace Hard Disk Drives.

InnoDisk FiD 2.5” SATA 10000 delivers high-performance sustained read and write rates up to 110 Mbytes/sec and 90 Mbytes/sec, burst read rates up to 300 Mbytes/sec and supports Serial ATA 2.0-3Gbps a standard. With InnoDisk advanced flash management technology, FiD 2.5” SATA 10000 offers a random read and write rate of over 9500 and 550 inputs/outs per second (IOPS) for a 512-byte transfer.

In comparison to traditional HDD, FiD 2.5” SATA 10000 achieves performance that is approximately 20% higher than the SCSI hard drive. Also, the drive at FiD 2.5” SATA 10000 32GB features a write/erase endurance of approximately 8 years at 1TByte of write/erase cycles per day thanks to an exclusive controller chip design that features proprietary wear leveling and bad block management algorithms. The new SATA 10000 flash solid state drive with single-level cell (SLC) NAND flash can resist up to 5G (7~2000Hz) of operating random vibration and 1500G/0.5ms of operating shock to prevent from bad block compared to the SCSI, IDE, and SATA interface hard drive with magnetic platters and drive heads.

FiD 2.5" SATA 10000 provides rugged and reliable storage for supremely challenging applications within the enterprise server, military, aerospace, commercial aviation, and industrial markets under harsh environmental conditions. Sampling for the FiD is expected to begin in March 2008 and shipping in volume by Q2 2008 in capacities ranging from 32GB to 128GB.
