Info X, New North American Distributor of Wasabi

For the VMX iSCSI SAN Appliance

Wasabi Systems today announced that it has appointed Info X as the North American distributor for its new VMX iSCSI SAN appliance series and Storage Builder Operating System.

This partnership reflects a mutually compatible vision of two highly customer-oriented companies,” said Kirk Roller, Wasabi’s Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales and Marketing. “I
believe our new products, combined with the Info X channel network of
over 2000 VARS and solution providers, provide the leading SAN
resellers the latest in iSCSI technology with the support necessary to
deploy it with confidence.

We were completely focused on the
network storage market and our customers were expressing the need for a
robust, reliable, but cost effective storage solution for the SME
market
,” said Tom Carlucci, President of Info X. “They wanted
something that would fit budgetary constraints while simplifying
infrastructure management. Wasabi’s VMX iSCSI SAN appliances are the
ideal solution, delivering red hot performance and rock solid
reliability and running on standard office IP networks.

The VMX appliances
are purpose-designed to meet the requirements of the small-to-medium
sized enterprise (SME), typically 25 – 1000 users per site. The
appliance series achieves enterprise class requirements for reliability
and yields the highest overall performance of any iSCSI SAN
in the market. Despite the high-level performance, they are much less
expensive than competing solutions and even when scaled up 60 TB
configurations, they are well under $2000 per TB. According to a
recent report from Aberdeen Group, affordability is the key criteria
driving most SME purchase decisions.

Additionally, the VMX
series easily installs within a standard office IP network, and without
requiring any specialized adapters or switches. The VMX series allows
for consolidation of direct attached storage (DAS) resources into an
easily managed centralized virtual storage pool. The appliances are
fully compatible with all common business productivity applications and
all leading operating systems, including Windows, OS X, Solaris,
NetWare, BSD and Linux.

Info X has been our preferred SAN
Distributor for years. We were delighted to find out that they teamed
up with Wasabi Systems
,” said Ian Easton, Director of Storage at Canvas
Systems, a GA-based Systems Integrator. “This relationship allows us
to offer our customers an iSCSI storage system with superior
performance, reliability and features. This is a big win for customers
in the SME market.

I have had the pleasure of working with
Info X since their early days
,” said Roller. “There is no question
that Info X is laser focused on the SAN marketplace and I am thrilled
to announce this relationship. I can think of no more powerful
partnership than Wasabi and Info X
.”

The Wasabi VMX iSCSI SAN appliance series
is now available through Info X starting at $5995 list price for a 2TB
system.

Wasabi and Info X are partnering on a registration program
allowing VAR’s to drive demand for the product and receive preferential
pricing and account protection.
